-roman people believe that romulus and remus founded rome were born to a mortal mother and raised by a she-wolf.remus was killed
-before romans knew greek culture they worshipped jupiter(became zeus),mars(became ares)and quirinus(no similar god)jupiter was god of skies,mars god of war,quirinus god of common people.
-Greek and Roman mythology have many similar gods with different equivalents like Athena becomes Minerva,Aphrodite becomes Venus, Artemis becomes Diana,Dionysus becomes Bacchus, Poseidon becomes Neptune,Hermes becomes Mercury and so forth.
-greek centaurs are part human part horse The Gods And Goddesses of Olympus
-Gaea came out of the earth and gave birth to Uranus in the sky.They had many children, the titans,cyclopes,hecatoncheires who had 100 arms and 50 heads
-Uranus threw the cyclopes and the hecatoncheires into tartarus and Gaea became furious and urged her children to overthrow their father but only cronos was brave enough. Cronos overthrew him and had many children with his sister rhea but he was afraid of being overthrown so he swallowed each child. rhea was afraid so she hid her last baby zeus in a cave and gave Cronos a rock instead.He swallowed it and rhea raised Zeus at that cave.Zeus grew strong and married a titans daughter who was wise.She gave Cronos a drink that made him throw up his children Hestia,Hera,Hades,Demeter,and Poseidon.they freed their uncles in Tarturus. The cyclopes made Zeus a thunderbolt,Poseidon a trident, and Hades a helm of darkness.Together they finally defeated Cronos and the Titans.They became the big 3 gods and they had a palace on mount olympus.
-Zeus punished people who deserved it and made Hera his queen but he had many other wives. he could change his shape.
-Hera and Zeus married and the wedding lasted 300 years.hera hated his adventures and his other wives.Once she threatened to steal his thunderbolt and she was hung in the sky by her feet and only was she free when she repented.
-Hephaestus was thrown of olympus when he was born because he was weak and lame. A sea goddess rescued him and although he could never walk he became a master craftsman.Hera saw an example of his work and allowed him to come back on Olympus and marry Aphrodite.
-Aphrodite rose out of the sea on a cushion of foam. She was so beautiful love bloomed around her. She married Hephaestus and lived on Olympus but she wasn't always true to him for she wore a girdle that made love bloom among the gods.
-Eros liked to zip around shooting people with arrows and they would fall madly in love whether they wanted to or not.
-Ares was a cruel bad-tempered coward that loved war.when defeated he was a sore loser. When he was wounded he cried pitiful tears. Only Aphrodite wanted him around.
-Poseidon is moody and created waves that flooded the land but when he was calm rivers dried and islands formed

-greek gods base their personalities on humann traits whereas the romans based their personalities on nouns.
-For the greeks physical life was more important to them then the afterlife and what happened then but the romans think that both are equally important and that if mortals do good deeds they will be rewarded in the afterlife.
-For the Greek mortals contribution to society was what really mattered in the end but for romans the myths had heroic deeds that the gods did because after mortal life was over they stopped being important.
-Creativity was more important to the Greeks than physical appearences but to the Romans actions were more important then words.
-The Greek gods were shaped with beautiful everything but roman gods appearences were only in the readers or thinkers minds.
